This math error analysis activity will make your students really think about angle pair relationships. Students identify incorrect statements about complementary, supplementary and vertical angle pairs. Students are then asked to fix each error. On each card there is an angle diagram and 3 statements.
On 5 of the cards, students identify complementary, supplementary or vertical angle pairs. On the other 5 cards, students find angle measures given the angle pairs. Students need to figure out which of the 3 statements is false (the "lie"), then correct the false statement on their answer sheet.
This activity gives students practice with identifying angle pairs and recognizing errors when they occur.
There are 10 cards, a student answer sheet and an answer key included.
