"2 Truths and a Lie" Linear Equations Math Error Analysis Activity
"2 Truths and a Lie" Linear Equations Math Error Analysis Activity
This algebra error analysis algebra activity will make your students really think about linear equations. Students identify incorrect statements about linear equations when presented with graphs, equations in standard form and tables. Students are then asked to fix each error.
On each card there is either a graph, an equation in standard form or a table and 3 statements about the representation's x-intercept, y-intercept and equation. Students need to figure out which of the 3 statements is false (the "lie"), then correct the false statement on their answer sheet.
This activity gives students practice reading graphs, reading tables and converting equations from standard form to slope-intercept form. It also offers practice recognizing errors when they occur.
There are 10 cards, a student answer sheet and an answer key included.
