"2 Truths and a Lie" Linear vs Nonlinear Functions Error Analysis Activity
"2 Truths and a Lie" Linear vs Nonlinear Functions Error Analysis Activity
This math error analysis activity will really make your students think about linear vs nonlinear functions. Students identify incorrect statements about functions shown in graphs, tables, equations and as ordered pairs being linear or nonlinear. Students are then asked to fix each error.
On each card there are 3 function representations and 3 statements about whether the functions are linear or nonlinear. Students need to figure out which of the 3 statements is false (the "lie"), then correct the false statement on their answer sheet.
This activity gives students practice determining if functions shown in tables, graphs, equations and ordered pairs are linear or nonlinear, along with recognizing errors when they occur.
There are 10 cards, a student answer sheet and an answer key included.
