This math error analysis activity will make your students really think about the order of operations. Students identify incorrect statements when presented with solved order of operations problems. Students are then asked to fix each error on their answer sheet.
On each card there are 3 solved order of operations problems. One of the problems is solved incorrectly. Students need to figure out which of the 3 statements is false (the "lie"), then correct the false statement on their answer sheet. None of the problems include exponents.
This activity gives students practice with the order of operations and also with recognizing errors when they occur.
There are 10 cards, a student answer sheet and an answer key included.
