This middle school math error analysis activity will really make your students think about ratios! Students identify incorrect statements when presented with ratio tables of ingredients in common real-world recipes. Questions ask students to find missing table values and to find correct unit rates. Students are then asked to fix each error on their answer sheets. All unit rates are terminating decimals.
On each card there is a ratio table and 3 statements about the information presented in the table. Students need to figure out which of the 3 statements is false (the "lie"), then correct the false statement on their answer sheet.
This activity gives students practice finding unit rates and calculating equivalent ratios, along with recognizing errors when they occur.
There are 10 cards, a student answer sheet and an answer key included.
