This math error analysis activity will make your students really think about ratios and proportions. Students identify incorrect statements when presented with groups of objects, missing information in ratio tables and missing information in proportion equations. Students are then asked to fix each error.
On each card there is either a group of objects, a ratio table or a proportion equation, as well as 3 statements about the information gathered from each representation. Students need to figure out which of the 3 statements is false (the "lie"), then correct the false statement on their answer sheet.
This activity gives students practice with ratios and proportions along with recognizing errors when they occur.
There are 10 cards, a student answer sheet and an answer key included.
