Some questions ask students to find annual income based on the gross and net amounts shown in a person’s paycheck. Students will gain an understanding of gross income, paycheck deductions and how to calculate net income from this personal finance activity.

My high schoolers, some who work but have never seen their pay stubs because of electronic payments, really learned a lot about knowing where some the money they earn goes every payday. It was eye opening!

This was a great additional resource to my lesson! Students have no problem identifying the amount that is being taken out by each paycheck but this was great to practice the percentage that amount is from their salary.
